Toshiba 52HM84 52-Inch HDTV-Ready Projection DLP TV Description:
Toshiba takes digital light processing DLP technology into the future with the 52 inch TheaterWide 52HM84 HD ready rear projection TV. The 16:9 52HM84 uses a proprietary system called TALEN Toshiba Advanced Light Engine, depending on the Texas Instruments HD2+ DLP chip, it enhances light and contrast while keeping the 1,280 x 720 progressive resolution 720p. Toshiba’s TheaterWide TVs challenge direct view CRT models when it comes to reproducing deep blacks and details in black or shadowy scenes. What is DLP? DLP, or digital light processing, is a technology that bounces a colored light beam across an array of hundreds of thousands of hinge mounted microscopic mirrors attached to a single chip, called a micromirror device below, pictured with the head of a pin. Each of the mirrors may be pointed toward or away from the light source thousands of times per second, not only minute color detail, but also sharper resolution than LCD displays. This set is HDTV prepared it needs an optional high definition receiver to get HD signals, but can improve standard definition video, thanks to Toshiba’s multistep PixelPure video processing system, which optimizes the three major picture quality factors: resolution, contrast, and color. All incoming signals are transformed by the fitted scaler to go with the DLP chip’s native 720p resolution. PixelPure encompasses eight different processing circuits. Among its parts are 6.2 million pixel oversampling for higher perceived resolution, real speed progressive scanning which uses extra sampling points to create smoother diagonal lines, a Magic Square algorithm for smooth, natural color gradation, Dynamic Contrast Enhancer for higher perceived contrast and increased color saturation, and Color Detail Enhancer to maintain good image detail in color saturated areas. DLP technology uses an optical semiconductor, called the Digital Micromirror Device, or DMD chip, to digitally control light. The chip holds a rectangular array of up to 1.3 million microscopic mirrors, each measuring less than one fifth the width of a human hair. A DMD panel’s micromirrors are mounted on tiny hinges that enable them to tilt either toward the light source on or away from it off, creating a light or black pixel on the projection surface. The bit streamed image code entering the semiconductor directs each mirror to switch on and off up to some number of thousand times per second, enabling the mirrors to reflect pixels in up to 1,024 shades of gray. The HD2+ DLP chip assures an ultraclean image by filling in the dimples, or vias, in the mirrors to avoid stray light. It increases both light and contrast, ensuing in an remarkable color corrected contrast percentage 2,200:1 at 1,100 ANSI lumens. The set’s TheaterFine HD Super good Pitch screen decreases the physical space between the lines on the lenticular screen, ensuing in a better, sharper, more in depth picture. Toshiba’s DFine Hi Speed VSM velocity scan modulation improves contrast and in general picture sharpness, while the CableClear DNR+ digital sound reduction optimizes poor NTSC signals from antenna or cable, more eliminating video sound “snow” for a clean, crisp image. Theater Mode circuitry 3:2 pulldown switch identifies original film based content from DVDs, then reassembles the frame sequence to more precisely reproduce the original 24 frame per second material. A 3 D Y/C 4 MB, 10 bit digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction helps eliminate dot crawl and color bleed and considerably decreases detail sound, seen as shimmering or flicker, in complex or intricately in depth scenes. Color temperature controls let you to change white balance. The Warm setting decreases the color temperature to an NTSC standard 6,500 degrees Kelvin and delivers a redder image that’s ideal for display in a dimly lit room. Medium and Cool setting supply a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. The 52HM84 has lots of inputs for connecting all your audio and video parts. In back you will find two RF, 2 mixed video, two S Video, and two HD ColorStream part video, also as a High Definition Multimedia Interface HDMI digital input. HDMI is an uncompressed, all digital audio video interface that supports standard, improved, or high definition video, plus eight channel digital audio all on a single cable. A set of front composite and S video inputs make hooking up a game console or camcorder a snap. Other features are HD Window dual tuner POP picture on picture with PIP sound for listening to two programs at the same time, the new Radiance DC lamp with high light and lower power modes for expanded life, individual audio video settings by input type, sleep and wake timers, Real Speed progressive scanning to create smoother diagonal lines, the Color temporary Improver for sharp transitions on color changes without bleeding, and the Color Detail Enhancer to preserve good image detail in color saturated regions. On the side from the 20 watts per channel stereo speaker system, the 52HM84 uses MTS for programming with stereo sound, and SAP for receiving a second audio track in another language. In the meantime, SRS WOW combines 3 D Sound simulated surround sound from any stereo audio with TruBass yet another low frequency enhancement and concentrate which clarifies voices. The StableSound volume leveler removes drastic volume spikes while changing channels or when channels go to a commercial break. What’s in the Box
52 inch 52HM84 HD ready rear projection DLP TV, four item illuminated common remote with DVD control, warranty, and user’s manual.

REAL NAME
&nbsp,&nbsp,

I researched televisions before purchasing the 52HM84. I compared DLP, LCD and Plasma. I decided on the DLP caused by its size and picture quality. I had narrowed my research down to the Mitsubishi and the Toshiba since these both us the HD2+ DLP chip. The Mitsubishi had a glare on the screen and the Toshiba did not. The quality of the picture is remaining. The technology to clean up messy analog signals is remaining. I couldn’t be happier with this buy. I greatly recommend a customer to buy the agreeing Toshiba ST5284 stand for the set. Together the set is perfect! GOOD WORK TOSHIBA!
Excellent set for a reasonable price,
January 4, 2005

By&nbsp,OC inhabitant Huntington Beach, CA United States See all my reviews

I spent over two years looking at high meaning televisions before settling on the Toshiba. The features that sold me were the remaining picture quality, both light and clearness, also as the reasonable price for the size and features of the set. I spent some number of months watching the prices in the retail stores, but never found the price dipping much below the $3000 that every retail store looks to want to sell it for.

I have never bought an item as big as this from Amazon, and I was a bit unwilling to do so. Given the reviews to date and comments about dependability, I was worried about purchasing from a company that didn’t have a good expanded warranty choice available. While does sell 3rd party contracts, I didn’t find them to be especially well recognized. I leaned toward purchasing the unit from Sears, where the expanded warranty is supported by a big service organization, and the organization is staffed by full time Sears employees who have generally been professional with other things I needed service on. The down side was a $700 difference in price between Sears and Amazon.

What convinced me to decide over the local merchants was that I was able to double the warranty by charging it on my American Express card. My only other hesitation was that I needed the unit carried up a flight of stairs, and while I knew that the local Sears delivery person could carry it up, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a trucking company contracted by Amazon.

My set has been delivered yesterday by Eagle Freight. They scheduled my delivery between noon and 5:00 pm, and they showed up at 4:00 pm, after 1st calling to let me know they were on their way. The drivers were friendly and professional, and they gladly carried the set up to the second floor and waited while I confirmed it worked properly. They took away the empty packaging. Since I’m familiar with electronics equipment, I knew how to swiftly set it up without their help. I am not sure they could have recognized how to set up an HDTV had I needed help, but luckily this wasn’t an issue for me.

The TV was up and running inside three minutes, and the quality is totally breathtaking. After much trepidation about buying such a big item over the internet, I’m quite happy that I chose to do so. I am still debating if to add an expanded warranty or just take a chance on it with the American Express warranty doubler as a backup. The expanded warranties don’t usually cover the substitute bulb, which cost roughly $300. Because this is the most probably part to fail, I suspect that I could be better off taking my chances and skipping the expanded warranty choice. But, it is nice to know this choice exists if I need it.

For those of you thinking about buying this item from Amazon, I could recommend you give it a attempt, as long as your credit card will double the warranty, and you don’t need much help in hooking up the set. I’ll update this review after having some weeks to get more familiar with the TV.

3/5/2005

After having this set for some months, I’m still completely impressed with it. The quality is remaining, and I have had no issues to date with dependability. I did buy a four year Warrantech warranty for around $200. This extends the warranty beyond the one year Toshiba warranty for a total of five years of coverage. Hopefully I’ll never need it, but for $200 it seemed well worth the price.
Inspect screen carefully before accepting delivery.,
October 3, 2005

By&nbsp,Y2KPony “Leif” CA, USA See all my reviews

Before signing and accepting delivery of any Toshiba DLP, make sure to check the screen to be sure that the covering on the inside of the screen is uniform. On mine, there was a circle about 10″ in diameter that you may see in some lighting and when the TV is off! it’ll appear lighter than the bordering regions at times and may be annoying. I called Toshiba and had a service man come out and though he acknowledged that this is common, Toshiba won’t replace the screen. I could have given them a negative ten if it were possible just because of their approach. Look at the screen carefully before accepting or buying. If you see this problem, refuse to accept it. Or else just purchase a Samsung or Mitsubishi DLP to avoid the problem I have.

This TV is excellent on style, small footprint, and small comparative weight. This TV is best if your mainly watch DVD’s or HDTV, and it’s mainly a bedroom or second room TV, not a main TV. The picture quality and size aren’t the best for regular cable TV, and the price certainly isn’t. It’s uncomfortable to connect all the needed wires as they’re all on one side or below the TV, , then you’re supposed to thread them all through a removable panel with a two inch hole. As well, this variant doesn’t include a fitted HDTV tuner. The computer monitor feature is good for hooking up to a laptop, but it uses up the only HDMI cable port.

Bought this TV in December 2004 have had a 13″ Aquos for a year and love it. About mid January I started noticing ‘flickering’ of the picture. On occasion it does it and can get really black too and on occasion it does not. I replaced the cables with Monster brand and bought a new DVD recorder so I KNOW it must be the TV. I am unwilling to take it to a service center now since on occasion it works good. Frustrating! I called Sharp and they had no idea.Told me just to take it to a service center. Too costly a set for this kind of problem.

We bought the Sharp Aquos LC 26DA5U 26″ LCD TV some weeks ago. Great picture quality, superb sound, stylish design. After many of research and many trips to stores, we narrowed our search down to Sony picture, Samsung price and Sharp middle ground. Sharp certainly gives you the best of both worlds quality picture at a great price. One area for improvement remote control design reminds me of a laundry bat : . Thank you for the FREE standard shipping offer! Got the TV inside a week of buy.

Toshiba 46HM84 46-Inch TheaterWide HD-Ready Rear-Projection DLP TV Description:
Toshiba takes digital light processing DLP technology into the future with its 46 inch TheaterWide 46HM84 HD ready rear projection TV. The 16:9 46HM84 uses a proprietary system called TALEN Toshiba Advanced Light Engine, depending on the Texas Instruments HD2+ DLP chip, it enhances light and contrast while keeping the 1,280 x 720 progressive resolution 720p. This set is HDTV ready it needs an optional high definition receiver to get HD signals, but can improve standard definition video, thanks to Toshiba’s multistep PixelPure video processing system, which optimizes the three major picture quality factors: resolution, contrast, and color. Medium and Cool supply a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. The 46HM84 has lots of inputs for connecting all your audio and video parts. On the side from the 20 watts per channel stereo speaker system, the 46HM84 uses MTS for programming with stereo sound, and SAP for receiving a second audio track in another language. In the meantime, SRS WOW combines 3 D Sound simulated surround sound from any stereo audio with TruBass yet another low frequency enhancement and concentrate which clarifies voices. The StableSound volume leveler removes drastic volume spikes while changing channels or throughout commercial breaks. What’s in the Box
46 inch 46HM84 HD ready rear projection DLP TV, four item illuminated common remote with DVD control, warranty, and user’s manual.

This review is from: Toshiba 52HM84 52 Inch HDTV Ready Projection DLP TV Electronics

Toshiba 34HF84 34″ TheaterWide HD-Ready Flat-Screen TV Description:
Note: Toshiba 34HF84 34″ TheaterWide HD Ready Flat Screen TV is not being made. You may want to think about buying the newer Toshiba 34HF85 34″ Widescreen HD Ready Flat Panel TV instead. Surprisingly cheap, Toshiba’s 34HF84 is prepared for the digital future with a widescreen dimension, a money of picture enhancing technologies, two high definition component video inputs, an HDMI direct digital connection for hookup with a DTV set top box or HD satellite receiver. And the 34 inch set’s FST PURE fine pitch flat picture tube not only looks great, it minimizes unwanted reflections from room light and increases looking at angles while enhancing picture linearity. Improving upon standard interlaced signals like those from DVD player, cable box, and VCR composite video outputs, Toshiba’s CrystalScan HDSC upconverts all signals to 1080i resolution. A 3D Y/C 4 MB, 10 bit digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction assures sharp, clean pictures from RF older VCR, laserdisc and composite video signals. DFine high speed VSM velocity scan modulation also improves meaning at picture edges by slowing the CRT cathode ray tube beam’s horizontal scanning throughout calling for work and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad black regions. , theater Mode 3:2 pulldown reversal circuitry identifies original film based content from DVDs, then reassembles the frame sequence to more precisely reproduce the original 24 frame per second material. As standard video amplifiers increase the get of the video signal, video bandwidth tends to decrease. This removes the higher frequencies, decreasing resolution. The 34HF84′s wideband video amplifier maintains the higher frequencies, enabling higher resolution and greater sharpness and detail. Dual ColorStream HD component video inputs Y, Pr, Pb supply the final picture quality from high resolution component video signals as from matched DVD players or satellite receivers. And, with direct video input selection, you may be able to directly choose inputs from the remote’s numbered keypad instead of having to scroll through all of them. Two sets of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs all as well as S video foster easy connection with a camcorder or gaming console, and a rear AV output allows you to hook the set up with a surround receiver. The set’s stereo speakers are powered by ten watts per channel, and SRS WOW processing combines 3D Sound simulated surround sound from any stereo audio with TruBass low frequency enhancement, and concentrate which clarifies voices. HDMI High Definition Multimedia Interface is a lossless, uncompressed, all digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source such as a set top box, DVD player, or AV receiver with your TV. HDMI supports standard definition SD, improved meaning ED, or high definition HD video, plus multichannel digital audio all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8 channel audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future improvements and prerequisites.
         Verified PurchaseWhat’s this?

I completely researched my 1st HDTV buy, settling on a 34″ widescreen for my small space, not to talk about the cheaper price for these sets, plus their reputed superior picture. I bought this Toshiba sight unseen, so I was a little nervous about the picture quality. Once I got it a couple of days ago I was quite impressed. I have both digital satellite DISH and basic cable, and the cable looks great. One thing that did annoy me was the grey bars on the side of the screen when watching a 4:3 standard TV source SAT, CBL. The manual warns that burn in caused by these bars isn’t covered under warranty. So why did not they make the bars black, which do not pose the same kind of risk? Luckily, the Toshiba set offers a mass of modes to stretch the 4:3 image to fill the whole 16:9. And much to my delight, the image does not appear badly distorted. In fact, in many cases, it nearly looks more natural, as if that is the way it was first filmed. Mind you, I do not still have an HDTV source.

Movies on DVD are spectacular. The TV upconverts the 480p signal from a progressive scan DVD player to either 540p or 1080i.

I was impressed with the sound from the TV’s fitted speakers. In fact, at one point when I tested them, I forgot that I was to get the sound from the TV rather from my audio receiver, which is how I will usually watch it.

PROS: connectivity alternatives, picture quality, stylish design small footprint, 33 1/2 in. Large, with speakers below screen, stretching modes, sound from fitted speakers, lighted remote.

CONS: grey bars for 4:3 resources and POP, minor geometry problems, upconversion of standard TV 480i to 1080i is auto can’t deactivate it and may make many programs look “shimmery” esp on basic cable.

On a side note: the 1st set I got through the marketplace merchant BeachAudio arrived busted up. I refused delivery, called BeachAudio, and they had a substitute out to me in three days. Excellent buyer service. It on occasion pays to go with an established online merchant.

Updated 12/12/04: I newly saw the following posting on AVSforum.Com: “The grey can be used by Toshiba to delay burn in, as it uses the pixels underneath the grey, rather than left not activated or activated with black.” At any rate, I propose not letting the grey bar issue effect your choice.

REAL NAME
&nbsp,&nbsp,

&nbsp,&nbsp,

After purchasing our 1st HDTV last year a Sharp 37&#34, LCD it was clear that we could never purchase a regular analog TV again. But when we required to get a 16:9 part percentage HDTV to fit in a 37&#34, large wall unit in our family room, we found the choices restricted. None of the Sony 34&#34, models could fit. Only three models fit and the Toshiba seemed the best choice.

After to get it home and hooking it up to a HD cable box and DVD player, we’re more than pleased. The HD pictures are excellent much, much better than our last analog set could produce. Same for DVD. Though obviously less Hi Def than HDTV the DVD is only 480p whereas the HDTV is 1080i, DVDs look much better than they did on our older Sony analog TV.

The set is easy to use and nearly all of the controls on the remote which can be programmed to manage the most basic features of your receiver and cable box are intuitive.

Make no mistake about it. This 34&#34, HDTV is nowhere near as crisp or clear as our 37&#34, LCD HDTV. As far as I can tell, rumours to the effect that CRT picture tubes still deliver a better picture than LCD are just plain wrong. One can see that in the showroom or at home. But this CRT HDTV only cost about 1/3 the price of an LCD. For 1/3 the price, you get all the same digital HD features, and a picture that, while not quite as sharp and clear as an LCD, is still far, far better than the best picture you may be able to get on an analog, non HD TV. IF you do not need the thinness of LCD or plasma and want a mid sized 16:9 HDTV, think about this Toshiba. I think you’ll be happy with the picture and the cost/value percentage &#60,$1150 delivered to your door.

I researched buyer TV’s for some number of months. I waited for the introduction of this product in August ’04 and tracked its development at the Toshiba site. I had many particular space prerequisites. Toshiba puts their speakers at the bottom of the unit, which was appropriate to me. TV speakers sound good for general TV looking at, and besides, I use my sound system for DVD’s and TV looking at where sound is vital to me. But the picture! WOW! I am feeding the TV HD cable, and the ten or so HD channels I get just blew me away. Georgeous sharp picture. All part hook up. Other digital cable not HD look good too.But HD is great. If you want to get into HD at a reasonble price point and a fabulous picture, you may want to think about a tube TV. Plasma and LCD are costly and have their respective issues. This is a great transition TV to the future. Cost $1399. I love it.
The Invar shadow mask removes picture discoloration doming caused by heat and lets the tube to operate at a higher voltage, yielding lighter whites, higher contrast, and purer colors. Color temperature controls let you to change white balance. The “Warm” setting decreases the color temperature and delivers a redder image that’s ideal for display in a dimly lit room. “Normal” and “Cool” supply a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. On the side from the 7 watt per channel stereo speaker system, the set has MTS for receiving stereo sound and SAP for receiving a second audio track in another language. Auto volume leveling removes drastic volume spikes while changing channels or when channels go to a commercial break. The improved Turbo Sound volume control boosts high and low audio frequencies, while sound enhancement modes create more realistic audio environments for movies, music, and speech. A simulated surround sound mode is available. A side S video and set of composite inputs present a clean looking front cabinet and make hooking up a game console or camcorder a snap. Two rear composite inputs, an S video input, and a DVD part input make connecting your audio/visual equipment easy. Component video inputs split the video signal into its base components Y the black and white part of the picture, Pr red minus Y, and Pb blue minus Y. The signal remains pure and unaffected by the TV’s comb filter or NTSC decoder. The result is higher resolution and improved color purity. A fixed A/V output is on the rear of the set also. Many convenience features have been incorporated into the TX P2734′s design. &nbsp,&nbsp,

I bought this 27″ TV with model number TXP2734X/XAA and S/N 38143CCY100373C from Circuit City on Mar 03, 2005 and two weeks ago it’s officially dead. It can’t simply be turned on. When I used the remote or directly press the power button on the TV, the LED light near “Timer” is flashing green, but the screen simply didn’t light up. There wasn’t physical damage, thunder shock, electric spikes or anything like that because all our other electronic devices are working alright.

I called Samsung buyer service and they told me it’s out of warranty, so I’m out of luck. Have anybody see a TV only last somewhat more than one year? I used my other old TV for 20 years now without any problem. Two of my friends bought other 27″ TV brands longer than I did at a much cheaper price and they’re still enjoying it while I have a cool looking part of junk sitting at home?

I will attempt to go to the fix shop and see how much it’s gonna cost to fix it. Nevertheless I promise I’ll never purchase any Samsung product in the rest of my and my wife’s life.
&nbsp,&nbsp,

I bought this 27 inch dynaflat Samsung in June of 2005. I had been impressed by the picture quality and the perceived value for a comparatively low price. Well, as they “you get what you pay for.” This TV just stopped working. It’ll not turn on. This TV is no more! It has finished to be! it is ended and gone to meet its maker! it is a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! Its metabolic processes are now history! it is off the twig! it is kicked the can, it is shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX TV!!

Samsung informed me that the warranty is up and that all I can do is pay to have it serviced. I have checked around the net and found that other people have had the same problem with this model. It just quits working after about a year. WTF!!?? I have a 20 inch Sony Trinitron that I bought in 1994. It was dropped, knocked over, kicked and had things spilled on it. It still works beautifully. Its really a shame that my twelve year old Sony is built so much better than my one year old Samsung. Avoid this TV at all costs!

Toshiba 62HM84 62-Inch HDTV-Ready Projection DLP TV Description:
Note: Toshiba 62HM84 62″ HDTV Ready Projection DLP TV is not being made. You may want to think about buying the newer Toshiba 62HM94 62″ DLP Integrated HDTV with Cable Card Slot instead. Toshiba takes digital light processing DLP technology into the future with the 62 inch TheaterWide 62HM84 HD ready rear projection TV. The 16:9 62HM84 uses a proprietary system called TALEN Toshiba Advanced Light Engine, depending on the Texas Instruments HD2+ DLP chip, it enhances light and contrast while keeping the 1,280 x 720 progressive resolution 720p. This set is HDTV prepared it needs an optional high definition receiver to get HD signals, but it can improve standard definition video, thanks to Toshiba’s multistep PixelPure video processing system, which optimizes the three major picture quality factors: resolution, contrast, and color. Medium and Cool settings supply a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. The 62HM84 has lots of inputs for connecting all your audio and video parts. On the side from the 20 watts per channel stereo speaker system, the 62HM84 uses MTS for programming with stereo sound, and SAP for receiving a second audio track in another language. In the meantime, SRS WOW combines 3 D Sound simulated surround sound from any stereo audio with TruBass yet another low frequency enhancement and concentrate which clarifies voices.
This review is from: Toshiba 52HM84 52 Inch HDTV Ready Projection DLP TV Electronics

This review is from: Toshiba 52HM84 52 Inch HDTV Ready Projection DLP TV Electronics

This review is from: Toshiba 52HM84 52 Inch HDTV Ready Projection DLP TV Electronics

I bought a Samsung 32″ HDTV and had to have it repaired at the end of the warranty period when a capacitor or voltage transformer started to make a high pitched whine that kept to get worse. That was OK. Now at 18 months after buy the major board goes bad and there’s no color and only grainy black and white. Repairs will cost more than a new TV. This is unacceptable quality control. Never another Samsung!

The picture on this TV is clear and the color is excellent. If you view it from most of an angle, but, the picture looks washed out. This is true if strong daylight is hitting the screen. The sound may be better for a TV that’s this size. Shipping on my order was slow. Some number of days longer than they claimed it could be but I do live in a pretty remote area.

Viore PLC7V95 7-Inch Portable LCD TV with Built-in Tuner reviews:
Rating: Viore seven inch tv
Great little tv. Recommend it greatly. Here in the huricane belt we must have dependable means of keeping up with whats happening, particularly when we have power outages.

Viore PLC7V95 7 Inch movable LCD TV with fitted TunerThis TV was more than I projected. Exceptional picture quality.

Very easy to program and ports for all your needs. I bought this for when we lose power throughout hurricanes. The only downside is that it only has a 90 minute battery life. I bought a car charger to help with this. I greatly recomend this product.

Rating: Steal of a Deal!!!
I bought this unit and I wanted to share a couple of observations with those of you trying to choose what to purchase.

  Picture quality was really good

I like the USB and SD card reader functions this is really nice and I did not see this choice on the other 7″ units on Amazon

Remote control is nice not high end but it works just fine

Sound was pretty good. I really did not expect much but I has been impressed

You have to take off the plastic protecting film from this unit. I noticed a couple of other customers complained about scratched screens and I thought I may have the same problem but when I took a good look at the TV I noticed the protecting plastic cover and once I removed this everything was good to go. They most likely should have put a little tab that said pull here or something.

I was able to get some number of channels so I thought the reception was pretty good

I gave it five stars. Good little TV and it seems like it’ll do what I need it to do. Oh yeah, be sure you go to the menu and scan for channels. You must do this to find channels using the antenna. I hate reading manuals but I really did not have an option when I 1st set this bad boy up.

Rating: About What I Expected
Viore PLC7V95 7 Inch movable LCD TV with fitted TunerThe picture is quite good and the set has many good features. But indoor reception is common of most digital sets today that are connected straight to an antenna. Many stations just do not come in and others frequently break up. It is not like my old analog handheld that this set replaced. But with the provided antenna that may be moved and located in different places to get the station you want is typically possible.

Rating: Love this TV with SD card reader
I was wanting to replace an older movable TV that had stopped working with the digital transition so I decided to buy this unit. I have been pleasantly surprised with the picture quality. I really like that it has a fitted SD card reader and the capability to play media from a USB drive. The antenna is external and has a magnetic bottom and looks to work well. I noticed that the number of channels I was able to get really depended on my physical place. I’m sure could be able to get extra channels if I bought a better antenna but the one that came in the box looks to do a good enough job for me. I could recommend this unit to others and I’m happy I decided to buy this specific device. There are many of 7″ TVs to decide from but this unit looked the most nice and I seemed to lucked out.

Couple of Pros and Cons:

Pros

Picture quality is really nice, SD card reader, external antenna I was told by a friend that the units with an attached antenna don’t get almost as good of a signal, remote control, pretty easy to scan for channels, battery life was about 1.5 hours not too shabby.

Cons

I didn’t like how the cable jack on the side has been recessed. This isn’t a big deal but it makes it a little hard to access.

Conclusion: Good picture and nice little movable TV

Well, I fought long and hard between a plasma and an LCD. Needless to the plasma won. This is a really nice TV. The colors are rich and vibrant, blacks are deep and true and the menu system works really well. The down side about this unit is its refresh rate, at least I am pretty sure that this is what is accountable for this 1, and only negative. While watching fast motion, the pixilation is rather disappointing. When a fast scene is displayed, the smooth, flawless picture is transformed into these big square blocks of distorted pixilation despite of an HD or SD signal. Though this is a minor bother, in every other way the set is amazing. The menu system lets you to tweak the displays in ways that I haven’t seen other sets do. As well, just an FYI I haved issues with random bursts of light which a firmware upgrade totally addresses. Those random bursts of light not exist. On one last note, I have still to see anything displayed in 1080p so I don’t know what the picture is like but I can only complete that it could be AMAZING. Kudos to as common ROCKS received unit 3 days before the estimated date with FREE shipping!

While I do love this plasma, and it does everything I want with tonnes of inputs, clear picture etc. I must say that after owning this TV for one year it died. I came home to no power, no standby and barely a hope. I have been reading online that there’s some these that have a alike problem. Thankfully samsung is one of the last two year warranty businesses. I am still waiting on the fix and will update on the position of how or what was wrong with it.

We bought this and the Sharp Aquos LC46D64U simultaneously.

The Samsung is amazing. Movies are a whole different experience from the Sharp. Sound++, contrast++, color++.

The most obvious difference are black shots. The Samsung has the contrast to bring it out while we’re squinting to see things with the Sharp.

If this is completely a LCD vs Plasma issue, then our vote is completely for the plasma.

Also, the Samsung does not seem to pump out much heat while the Sharp pumps it out like a heater from the front of the screen.

Finally, we were sold on this product at Best purchase. But, after they strung us out for one hour at the store just five miles from our house we were told that deliver of the item which they had in stock goed to take three weeks. Got it to us in four days and it only took five minutes to order. Next time, I think we will skip the electronics store.

Bottom line is this TV is amazing in nearly every way. Blue Ray is fantastic! HDTV is superb! PS3 and Xbox360 is breathtaking. Have not encountered any ghosting or burn in still. As everyone says the only thing that its missing is a loud booming sound but that should not stop anybody from to get it, since that is an easy fix. You wont be disappointed.

So I bought the 50′ Samsung Plasma TV after being rated #1 by buyer Reports. Guess what? After five weeks of TV watching it cracked internally and Samsung says they will not cover it because it is physical damage though the TV is like new, no scratches, nothing, we were just watching and puff. A sound comes from it and a line starts coming out from the left top corner across the screen. So I go online and I realize that I am not alone, many people had the same issue.

BEWARE!!!!!!

I discovered that I am not alone, I found more than 20 people with the same issues only the ones that posted comment, I am sure there are more reading, so I am confident it is a product defect since I didn’t do anything to the TV.
